Autism North East provides careful, face-to-face Autism assessments for children and adults across the North East and Cumbria. Our experienced Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) takes time to understand the whole person, offering clear diagnosis, practical recommendations and ongoing support.
Families and individuals travel to our Clara Vale and Tynemouth centres from Newcastle, Northumberland, Durham, Teesside and across the wider North East for our specialist Autism assessment.
Our Autism assessments follow NICE guidelines and involve our Multi-Disciplinary Team. We take time to explore developmental history, current experiences and the broader context of each person’s life.
Many people are now offered rapid online assessments. While these can be helpful in some situations, our approach is different. Our face-to-face Multi-Disciplinary assessments allow us to build a detailed and accurate understanding.
Every assessment is tailored to the individual but may include several elements designed to build a full understanding of a person’s experiences.
Autism assessments for children explore development, communication, behaviour and learning within the context of family life and education.
A typical children’s assessment may include:
Cost of Autism Assessments for Children from £2535
Many adults seek Autism assessment later in life after recognising patterns in communication, relationships, work or daily life that may have been present for many years. For many people the assessment process provides an opportunity to better understand their experiences and identity.
Adult assessments may include:
Cost of Autism Assessments for Adults from £2345
Many of the individuals and families we work with have complex situations where autism may overlap with other experiences.
Our Multi-Disciplinary Team has extensive experience working with these complex situations, allowing us to provide thoughtful and careful assessment even when a person’s profile is not straightforward.
Following assessment, we meet with clients to explain the outcome, diagnosis and our understanding of the individual’s strengths and needs.
A comprehensive written report is provided which can be shared with schools, universities, employers or healthcare professionals where appropriate.
We can also provide post-diagnostic therapy and support to help individuals and families move forward.
