ADHD can present in different ways. Some people experience more challenges with attention and organisation while others experience more difficulties with activity levels and impulsivity, or a combination of both.
At the same time, many people with ADHD also bring strengths such as creativity, energy, curiosity and the ability to think in flexible and innovative ways.
For some people ADHD has been present since childhood but may not have been recognised earlier. Many adults seek assessment later in life as a way of understanding their experiences more clearly.
ADHD also often exists alongside other Neurodevelopmental or Mental Health differences, which is why careful and comprehensive assessment is important
Many people are now offered rapid online ADHD assessments. While these can be helpful in some situations, our approach is different. We provide careful, face-to-face Multi-Disciplinary assessments that allow us to explore developmental history, current experiences and overlapping needs in depth.
Our team includes Clinical Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, an Occupational Therapist and a Special Educational Consultant, allowing us to understand the wider developmental context in which attention differences occur.
